It doesn’t depend on the buildings around,
It doesn’t depend on the people you’ve found,
It doesn’t depend on the wind or the rain,
It doesn’t depend on the time of the train.
It’s about being true and being you,
not the fantasy land of taking a stand,
for the sake of applause,
or the multitude’s roars.
It’s about living your essence,
your ultimate you,
the you who lives on,
through all the yous.
Not the postcard, the picture, the photograph on the wall,
Not the layers upon layers of labels that sit tall
on everyone’s table, or is it just me,
Who finds it so hard to step back from photography?
