“There are halls in the heavens above that open but to the voice of song.” (The Zohar)
I’ve been reminded this week of the late Jewish poet-songwriter Leonard Cohen’s 1984 song ‘Dance Me To The End of Love’.
It is a song of love, a song of horror, and a song of mourning.
Over the years, this song has brought me solace at times of solitude and grief, and I hope my own recording might bring some small measure of beauty to what can be a nightmarish world.
May all suffering be met with the deepest compassion, and may all those who have lost their lives rest in peace.
